Public message boards

>> Monday, March 31, 2008

Many know I run two private message board but also belong to a couple public high profile boards. One of them was my expecting/playgroup when I had Christopher. Over a year ago, one of the regular members lost her marbles. She went crazy on me and a bunch of other women over and over in different hot topics. It got so bad that some of us left and formed a private(mentioned above)board.

In the 16 or so months, this lady or Troll as she is known has become more and more of a problem to the ladies left on the public board. Her craziness has included by not limited to name calling, impersonation of others and impersonating herself blaming it on others, making wild accusations, strange stories about her personal life. She has been banned numerous times but creates new names and comes back.

I find it very sad that this troll has nothing better to do with her life but am fascinated by her boldness and insane behavior! It is like watching a train wreck. Can't.look.away.

Is there a point to it?

>> Sunday, March 30, 2008

Every married woman can relate to me at one point in their marriage I'm sure. A husband who fights you on something silly just for the sake of it.

Example:
Chris' parents are coming over for a very early dinner. Chris is making his oh.so.good.melt.in.your.mouth. pot roast. I figured that dessert (like always) would be put in my care. I was thinking maybe a bumble berry pie or the chocolate cream cheese cake that my Father in law loves. Thinking more on the subject and remembering the amazing girl scout simosas.

*Back to the story, after this quick commercial break*
Now, if you haven't tried them I suggest you start stalking (ok really don't do that, its creepy) girl scouts until they give up the goods(cookies, you freaks!) They are little coconut gifts from heaven!

So, that got me thinking about a coconut cream pie. I showed Chris the recipe and asked his opinion. I got the 'why do we need dessert' line. Umm, it's not polite to invite people for dinner without a dessert!? We may be poor but we aren't living in a van down by the river eating government cheese(ok well we do eat government cheese but that's another story). This got me all sorts of pissed off, much to his amusement I'm sure.

Yesterday after work, he picked the kids and I up and we headed to the store. He reminded me to write the ingredients from the coconut cream pie that we needed down so we wouldn't forget anything. He was probably planning this all along.

In the end, we settled on a chocolate crumb crust and HE made the filling last night. Why oh why do we have to do the little piss off Bran dance first? I think he likes to see me turn purple and give him the silent treatment because I only do that when I'm pissed and it's his own moments of peace.

We had our first major trauma today. Christopher, while climbing the great purple dresser, took a header into the wall/bed/dresser(details from a 4 yr old are sketchy). He had a nice big purple lump on his noggin with a gash in the middle.

We didn't take him to the ER because he was ready to play half hour later, taking only a small break in mommy's lap to chill and recoup.

Brave or stupid, I'm not sure which

Art time today, I brought out the fingerpaints. It actually went way better then I thought! Nothing a quick bubble bath wouldn't clean up at least!

Having a little taste

They called him the streak...

>> Tuesday, March 25, 2008

The kids, happily playing in the bath, gave me a few minutes of peace. My desk is right outside the bathroom and I was listening to them splash and play and laugh. Soon I catch a little blur go by, giggling. Elizabeth laughing loudly in the tub while a little wet naked baby darts into the kitchen. I grab his towel and run after him but he is quick. After a minute of chasing him, he realizes "Hey, its COLD!" and runs into my arms and the warmth of his towel. Still excited from his voyeur run, he giggles and shivers in my arms as I warm and dress him. Happy and cozy, he was asleep in his bed in minutes.

These are the moments that make being a mom worth it.

Stupid non-Easter Monday celebrating government!

>> Monday, March 24, 2008

So in Canada Easter Monday is always a STAT holiday to make up for Easter being on Sunday. Well, here in the land of bank/USPS holidays, Easter Monday doesn't exist! You would think that in 5 years of living here I would remember but again I forgot and again I didn't put my trash out to be picked up or put the letter I needed mailed into the box.

It is suppose to be a damn HOLIDAY!!

On a positive note. Thanks Time Warner Cable for the free HBO/Cinemax Weekend! My DVR is full of movies now!

The easter bunny came a little late today. After breakfast and bathtime when the kids were all ready for the day.

Not your grandmother's hard boiled eggs!

>> Saturday, March 22, 2008

We did our egg decorating this morning and it went a lot better then I was expecting! My kids didn't come out of it purple or green, my carpet is still beige and I don't look like a pixie threw up glitter on me!
