6 years.

It has been 6 years since my sister took her trip to Heaven. 1 year since my Grandmere joined her.

Today is a day of celebration of their lives and their love. It is a beautiful warm sunny day. No tears, only smiles and laughter. Ok maybe a tear or two but no more then that.

I love you Cathy, I miss you so much. I would give anything just to talk to you one more time.

Rest well Grandmere. Don't give Cathy too hard of a time up there.

School time

>> Friday, May 15, 2009

Elizabeth has been out of school since mid April. She is starting to whine for school work.

At Christmas, Santa sent her this really big preschool workbook. Hindsight says now, I should of kept the book nice and photocopied pages out of it but I didn't have any paper or ink so I just let her do the book. She is finished it and is now bored. If I had photocopied some of it, I would just give it to her for review.

Now I am looking around the internet for workbooks. I found a couple (at 10 bucks a pop!) that I *MIGHT* get her. They are preschool, kindergarten and Gr.1 range. I think the preschool would be great for review. Kindergarten will be good to get her moving on next year and Gr.1 just to see really what she can do.

Is it odd that my daughter is on a extended summer vacation and she wants to do school work? I will have to remind her of this when she is 15 and faking sick so she doesn't have to go to school!!

Mothers Day

>> Monday, May 11, 2009

Mothers Day started on Saturday for me. Chris took me to this new(to us)place called Juicy Burger. It was great! Not your regular burger joint at all! The sweet potato fries were amazing!

After, Chris surprised me by suggesting I go next door to Fantastic Sams for a much needed haircut! Even more surprising, when they lady found out I was looking to cut 15 inches off, she grabbed some elastics and told me my hair would be donated to locks of love! This was even MORE(I know amazing right) surprising when we found out my donation meant my haircut was free!!

Mothers Day continued on Sunday with a shopping trip that resulted in Chris making me some amazing baby back ribs in the oven low and slow all day along with corn on the cob also in the oven. It was very very good! The ribs were perfect and the corn was so sweet and tender.

After the kids went to bed, Chris and I snuggled on the couch for our weekly Sunday night animation domination. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, the Sunday night lineup on fox is The Simpsons, King of the hill, Family Guy and American Dad.

Yes, we both remembered to call our moms!

My boy.. and his bug

>> Monday, May 4, 2009

I went out and put the swing set together today. The kids had fun running around and Elizabeth helped me a little when I needed it. I got everything set up and they were able to play a little while before lunch.

While we were out there, I checked on my strawberry and rhubarb plants. They seem to have taken the transition to their new homes well. I spotted a little ladybug in my garden and called the kids over to see. Elizabeth wanted to only look but Christopher was a little more interested. He didn't want to pick it up himself so I put it on a little leaf then put the leaf in his hand. The ladybug crawled off and onto his finger. He thought it was very cool.
